Education Above All Condemns Killing Of Student In Ukraine

Calendar icon
Education Above all condemns the killing of an innocent international student in Ukraine's eastern city of Kharkiv and renews calls to allow for immediate protection and safe passage for all students irrespective of their nationality, race, ethnicity, or religion.

The student is an Indian national, and according to the Government of India, he died during shelling on Tuesday morning.

This loss of an innocent life illustrates the urgency for the international community to unite to protect all students, educators, and schools, and develop a system of humanitarian evacuation for those trapped.  The current conflict has left an unknown number of international students stranded, many having little means or capacity to evacuate.

Education Above All calls on all parties to the conflict in Ukraine to protect all civilians, including students, from attack.
