Nour El-Deen Mohsien, a 40-year-old Psychotherapy Officer at the Psychological and Social Support Association in the Gaza Strip, was one of 60 participants who took part in the capacity building program of staff working in mental health & PSP Services in July 2012. The program was funded by Al Fakhoora and implemented by Qatar Red Crescent and the Gaza Community Mental Health Programme.

Even before his nomination to join the training, Nour has had an outstanding career in his field and was so excited to gain new skills & experiences and apply new approaches when dealing with patients with complex psychosocial conditions. "The training has been an amazing turning point for my career, I l have earned new ways to diagnose and treat my patients." Nour said.

He added, "There were many participants who faced difficulties in talking with patients, but after the training they gained the knowledge to analyze the needs of the patients and provide appropriate psychosocial support to them without any fear."

Driven by his high spirit and motivation after completing the training, Nour was able help more than 40 patients to restart their daily lives and routines normally. "The training has given me new skills to gather important information from patients, better identify their needs and thus develop proper treatment schedules. Such skills are most needed in our crisis-affected community." Nour expressed.

It is worth mentioning that after his recent achievements with patients, Nour has been interviewed several times by local media. He has also participated in radio and television programs to give psychological counseling on some public mental health conditions.
