EAA Condemns Attack at Karachi University

Calendar icon

Education Above All condemns the attack at Karachi University targeting educational facilities and staff on Tuesday. Three educators, all Chinese nationals, and a driver, a Pakistani national, were killed when an explosion went off next to their van near the university.

EAA strongly condemns all attacks on students, teachers, and education facilities in Pakistan and worldwide. Education is a basic human right, and as per UN Security Council Resolution 2601, all parties to armed conflict are obliged to safeguard the right to education for all and ensure that schools are protected safe spaces.

This latest attack in Pakistan only confirms how urgent it is to hold those who attack education accountable, and for the international community to unite to protect education.
