Opening up a world of education

Children love to learn. If they are denied access to knowledge, we also deny them the opportunity to change their lives for the better.

Raising funds for our projects

Currently ROTA has educational development projects and programs in 11 focal countries across the Middle East and Asia, including; Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iraq, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar and Syria.

Our partners in Asia and the Middle East include; Mercy Corps, Action Aid, CARE, Muslim Aid and Islamic Relief Worldwide to name but just a few. We are also financially supported by organizations such as Vodafone, the Qatar 2022 World Cup Bid Committee, the Asian Football Confederation and the Al Waleed Bin Talal Foundation.

To raise much needed funds to continue and build upon our work in Asia and the Middle East, ROTA holds a bi-annual fundraising gala dinner in which we host VIPs and celebrities from around the world to attend for an evening of entertainment and giving through sponsorship, auctions and donations.

Previous Gala Dinner’s have been attended by His Royal Highness Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal of Saudi Arabia, US President Bill Clinton, journalist and presenter Riz Khan, actor Sir Ben Kingsley, singer Cher, philanthropist Sir Bob Geldof, British Royal Viscount David Linely, singer Yusuf Islam, actor Josh Harnett, and barrister and wife of Prime Minister Tony Blair, Cherie Blair, to name but just a few.

ROTA 3rd Gala Dinner, held on the 31st of October 2009, received an unprecedented response from donors, sponsors, global philanthropists and celebrities, with all 480 seats for the event being sold out, a week in advance. The Dinner and extraordinary charity auction, held at Qatar’s iconic Museum of Islamic Art, the auction efforts have raised over $9 million, with total fundraising efforts reaching $20 million. This year we hope to have another great mix of VIPs, statespersons and celebrities attend our event to support our educational cause in Asia and the Middle East and to help us exceed our past fundraising efforts.
