Education Above All and OHCHR invite young human rights advocates to apply to participate in the Youth Rights Academy organized in Geneva in July 2025.

Call for Applications: OHCHR-EAA Youth Rights Academy (7-11 July 2025)

In the framework of the project ‘Working with and for youth in vulnerable situations including conflict, violence, and insecurity’, OHCHR and Education Above All Foundation (EAA) are organizing a Youth Rights Academy, that will take place in Geneva from 7 to 11 July 2025.

The Youth Rights Academy is aimed at building capacities of young advocates and practitioners working on human rights, particularly in the contexts of conflict and insecurity. It will explore definitions, concepts, and frameworks related to the human rights of young people and connected issues and empower participants to use advocacy and other tools to promote human rights in their communities.

By using this form, young human rights advocates and practitioners can apply to be part of the Youth Rights Academy. 

The participants will be expected to devote five full days (on average, 10-11 hours per day) to the in-person participation in the academy, including the training sessions and the extracurricular activities.

The applicants should correspond to the following criteria:

  • 18-30 years old (as of 7 July 2025).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in advocating for human rights, including the rights of young people, at local, national, regional, or international level.
  • Provision of a reference letter from a professional or personal contact attesting to the candidate’s advocacy and human rights work (template here).
  • English language proficiency (working level). The Academy will be held exclusively in English, with no interpretation provided.

Organisers will cover expenses of participants related to their travel and stay in Geneva during the academy.

The applications are accepted until 12 January 2025, 23:59 (CET).
